    Glass Soul

    Through all this sadness
    I care only to smile
    though the fear holds my heart so near
    is it that destiny has used me
    or are we lost in the dreams
    we never dared to believe
     
    I share my life
    with the faded memories
    star lights the way
    beyond the shadows
    into a glass soul
     
    I don't need to be saved
    I put away my wings
    one can only fly so high
    before the sun begins to burn
    us down
    bring us back to this
     
    A sacrifice
    to remember
    all that we had shared
    when a glass soul
    could stand on it's own
     
    With all it takes to be strong
    I wish it were enough to love
    with nothing to prove
    still I'm left here
    sitting up on the fool's throne
    but it's gone

    and all that we shared
    beyond the shadows
    I can see your smile
    in this glass soul.

    I dreamt of a soul that suited mine, &found one that shone right through.
    Though wishes come true, &life moves on, it takes me to an end.
    Why did this love have to be a great friend.
    Now I'm left with a choice, one that haunts me till I'm gone.
